Biannual Ladder Tournament
Some chess players thrive in a competitive
environment and that is why we've started a biannual ladder chess tournament. Every week registered players
compete to earn a prize and their name engraved on a trophy.

Age Categories
The ladder tournament is broken into different categories to ensure the event is engaging for all ages and skill levels.

How Points Are Calculated
The following table shows how the points are calculated each game. For example the one time no points are awarded or deducted is when two players have the same amount of points reach a draw.
| Game Result | Higher Rating | Equal Rating | Lower Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Win | +300 | +200 | +100 |
| Loss | -100 | -200 | -300 |
| Draw | +100 | 0 | -100 |
Previous Ladder Tournament Winners
Congratulations to Andy C., Mike R., and Herman K. for ranking top three in last season's ladder tournament.

Ladder Results
The current standings of each player determines how the points are calculated each game. This can
provide a considerable advantage for a lower rated player and enables them to catch up with the leader in
only a few games.
